Translated in English means cheese snails, for the shape of the pastry. You can make it empty, or with various/additional ingredients. My favorite is with cheese, so today I will show you how to do that.
The main thing is how to make the dough. This kind of dough requires time. Be patient, because the result is indescribable! You will see.
To make the dough you will need:
2dcl lukewarm milk (mustn’t be too hot!)
1tsp baking powder
For the filling, I used feta cheese (200g) and 3tbs sunflower oil.
I made a video about how to do this. Do not give up if you fail the first time. Once you get the feeling, each time it will be better.
Keep in mind that the dough has to cool in a warm place for about an hour, in order to grow. As you can see in the video, I put the bowl with dough in a bigger one filled with hot water. It is a tested method of heating the dough.
These snails are great in sweet variation. Instead of cheese, you can put a homemade jam. Or make half with cheese, half with something sweet. It is up to you to decide.
