These are the most delicious pretzels you’ll ever try! They are good as a snack for work or school, but also as part of some easy serving at parties, birthdays or some other celebrations.
I got the recipe from my husband’s mom – my mother-in-law, who is trying to learn more about celiac disease, gluten-free diet, recipes, and to surprise me all the time since we met. I am not one of those people who will burden other people with their problem. I will rather convince the host that I’m not hungry instead to bring it into an unpleasant situation because there is nothing gluten free for me on the table. But! I have to admit that it means me immensely when someone who first encounters with celiac shows me in this way how much he loves me.
Flour, water, eggs, and oil are all that you will need if you decide to make these pretzels. You will also need a pretzel mold, rolling pin and pan in which you will bake it. What you need to know is that the thinner ones you make, they will be even more crispy. When you try them, you’ll know why I’m telling you.
Ingredients:
200ml of lukewarm water
half a teaspoon of sugar
half a teaspoon of dry yeast
1 egg
270g of Schär Mix B flour
50g of flour for spreading
Oil for baking
Put the yeast and sugar in the water. When the yeast is activated, add egg and flour and mash the dough. Sprinkle your work surface with flour and try to make as thinner dough as you can. Make the pretzels with the mold and place into a casserole that you have covered with a thicker layer of oil.
The thickness of the pretzels should be about 2-3 mm. Brush them with the egg and sprinkle with salt, then bake for about 10 to 15 minutes at 220ºC, but be careful not to over bake them.
